| Part 2b - Self Assessment |
- Include ABR-qualified radiation oncology refresher courses, workshops, reading assignments, etc.
- The diplomate must take a self-administered exam in conjunction with each program.
- Two to three SAMs should be taken in each three-year period.
- Educational component of SAMs may count toward CME requirement as well as fulfilling the SAM requirement.

| Part 4 - Performance in Practice |
This component will ensure that each diplomate engages in practice assessments and quality improvement in the professional practice of radiation oncology.
PQI projects are:
- Self-reported - type 1- examples in development to be available on the ABR Web site
- Society-based - type 2 - (ASTRO's PAAROT) – a total of three PQI projects (at least one of which is type 2) are required during the 10-year MOC interval, one in each three-year period.
