eASTRO Computer Learning Lab 2008
The 2008 computer learning lab focuses on the following sites and treatment:
- Breast.
- Gastrointestinal (upper GI).
- Gynecology.
- Head and neck.
- Lung.
- Prostate.
The objectives for the computer learning lab are to:
- Strengthen hands-on contouring skills.
- Practice contouring techniques with leading experts.
- Compare contours with leading experts.
This program will be held at the ASTRO Annual Meeting in Boston and is designed to provide crucial clinical education for professionals to provide an opportunity to discuss issues such as imaging and target delineation, quality assurance and its frequency, and achievable accuracy in each major disease site. Participants have the opportunity to practice contouring and compare their contours to those of experienced professional faculty and technical support.
Target Audience
This course is aimed at radiation oncologists, radiation physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists and radiation therapy nurses who work as part of a treatment planning and delivery team.
Continuing Medical Education
Physicians
The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ASTRO designates this educational activity for a maximum of 9.0 AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Technologists/Dosimetrists
Application has been made to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists for designated of Category A continuing education credit.
Physicists
Application has been made to the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Program for CAMPEP credit.
Note: This is a separate CME activity from the Annual Meeting Scientific Program.

If you are registered to contour on your personal laptop, you will need to ensure that your software specifications meet the description below:
- Intel Pentium Processor.
- Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2, Windows XP, Professional or Home Edition, or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater/ Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or greater.
- 256 MB of RAM, (512 MB recommended).
- 360 MB of available hard disk
space; cache for optional installation files (recommended) requires an additional
300 MB of available hard-disk space.
